Nevena Petkovic was born on the 03. of April 1995. She finished primary education in Kucevo and Grammar school in Smederevo. At the Faculty of Philosophy, Department for ethnology and anthropology, she graduated in 2018. with the topic „Approaches to Understanding and Representation of ‘Reality’ in the ethnographic films of David MacDougall“, under the mentorship of prof. Slobodan Naumovic PhD, with the highest grade and an average grade on her studies of 9,51. At the same Department in 2019. she defended her master thesis on the topic „Types of political involvement in documentary films about the fall of Yugoslavia“, under the mentorship of prof. Slobodan Naumovic, with the highest grade and average grade over her master studies of 10. She enrolled for PhD studies in the academic year 2019/2020 and is currently working on the thesis „Strategies of Identification of Internally Displaced Persons from Kosovo and Metothija: Anthropological Analysis of Oral and Written Narratives about the Home“, under the mentorship of prof. Gordana Gorunovic PhD, and comentorship of prof. Slobodan Naumovic.

During her bachelor studies she finished a second semester of second year (2016) on the department of social anthropology at Panteion University in Athens through the „Erasmus plus“ program of student mobility. She was a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development at the Institute for Serbian Culture Pristina – Leposavic from 2020. to 2022. under the mentorship of research associate Aleksandar Pavlovic Phd. She has been employed at the Institute for Serbian Culture Pristina – Leposavic from July 2022, as a Junior Researcher. 

The primary areas of her studies are visual anthropology and political anthropology, which are now extended to anthropology of folklore and the anthropology of literature.

She speaks English fluently and uses Russian and Spanish.
