Biography
Mitar Galjak was born in 1990 in Kosovska Mitrovica, where he finished elementary and high school. He completed his bachelor studies at the Department of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Priština in 2024 (grade point average 9.36). On October 30, 2024, he finished Master Academic Studies of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Priština (grade point average 9.25). The title of his master thesis was “The development of schooling and education in Serbia from 1918 to 1941.”
He completed BA studies at the Department of History in 2016 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Priština. At the same faculty, he finished his M.A. studies in History in 2019.
Since 2024, he has been a student of Doctoral Academic Studies of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Kosovska Mitrovica. In January 2025, he was elected as a junior research assistant. Since April 2025, he has been employed at the Institute for Serbian Culture Priština–Leposavić as a junior research assistant.
Mitar’s main areas of interest and research are related to the history of pedagogy, with a special focus on the study of the development of education in Serbia in the 19th and 20th centuries. He speaks English and Turkish.
