Aleksandra Brajović, born in 1997 in Belgrade.
She completed her primary and secondary education in Pančevo. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2019 and her Master’s Degree in Slavonic Studies (with the focus on Serbian language and culture) in 2021 at the Institute for Slavonic Studies, Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies, University of Vienna. She earned another Bachelor’s Degree in Russian language and culture in 2023 at the same institution. Currently she is a PhD student in Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna, preparing a doctoral dissertation titled „Jezik Jovana Muškatirovića“ („The language of Jovan Muškatirović“) under supervision of Prof. Anna Kretschmer and Prof. Roman Krivko.
In 2021–2022 she was granted the SEE Graduate Scholarship, a stipend for great academic results and accomplishments funded by the City of Vienna. From 2022 to 2024 she was employed on the international project Slavic studies in exchange: Austria and Russia in 1849–1939 (Joint Project – An international project funded by the Austrian foundation FWF and the Russian foundation for basic research). Since 2023 she is participating in the creation of Slavonic-Serbian dictionary, a project led by Matica srpska.
In 2022 she held a guest lecture on topic „The 18th century in Serbian language history“ at the Philological faculty, University of Banjaluka. She participated in international scientific conferences and published articles in Serbian, English and Russian language in many scientific journals, both in Serbia and abroad. She speaks English, German and Russian.
Fields of her scientific interest contain the history of Serbian language (first and foremost the 18th and 19th century and the so-called Slavonic-Serbian language), history of education among Serbs, Serbian-Russian language and cultural connections.
